Cookie Policy

You are on this page because you want to know what we track. That is a fair question, and it deserves a straight answer rather than three paragraphs of legal boilerplate.

This page explains exactly which cookies Bright My Bricks uses, who places them, what they are for, and how long they stay on your device. You decide what you share with us, and you can change that decision at any time.

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your computer, phone or tablet when you visit it. On your next visit, the site can read that file and recognise your browser.

Cookies are not programs. They cannot read your hard drive, install software or access your files. What they can do is remember things: the language you picked, what is in your basket, or the fact that you already looked at a light kit for a particular set.

Some cookies come from us. Others are placed by third parties whose services we use, such as Google or our review platform. Those are called third-party cookies, and we list them below with the rest.

The four types of cookies we use

1. Strictly necessary cookies

These make the shop work. They keep your basket filled between pages, remember whether you are logged in, store your country and currency, and record your cookie choice so we do not ask you again on every page.

What this means in practice Without these, adding a light kit to your basket and moving to the next page would empty it. They carry no advertising purpose and cannot be switched off, which is why they do not require your consent under EU law.

2. Analytics cookies

These tell us how the shop is actually used: how many people visit, which pages they land on, which ones they leave immediately, and where things break.

What this means in practice If the installation guide for a particular set gets read three times longer than the others, that usually means it is unclear, not that it is popular. Analytics is how we find that out. We look at these figures in aggregate, not to build a profile of you individually.

3. Functional cookies

These remember your preferences so the shop behaves the way you left it: display language, currency, and settings tied to services we use for order tracking and customer reviews.

What this means in practice If you browse in French with prices in euros, you should not have to set that again on every visit. That is what these do. Decline them and the shop still works, it just forgets your preferences.

4. Marketing and advertising cookies

These are placed by advertising platforms so that the ads you see elsewhere relate to what interests you, and so we can tell which ads actually lead to a sale rather than guessing.

What this means in practice This is why a light kit you viewed here can reappear in an ad on Instagram or YouTube. If that bothers you, decline this category. Nothing on this site stops working, you will simply see less relevant advertising elsewhere, not less advertising.

Managing your preferences

The banner shown on your first visit lets you accept everything, decline everything, or open Manage preferences to choose category by category. Declining is exactly one click, the same as accepting.

You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser, which makes the banner appear again on your next visit.

Your browser also gives you direct control. In Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge, the privacy settings let you block or delete cookies, either for all sites or for this one. Blocking the strictly necessary ones will stop the basket and checkout from working.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to its processing, ask us to restrict it, or request a portable copy. Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time, which does not affect what was lawful before you withdrew it.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. In France, that is the CNIL.

Changes to this policy

We update this page whenever we add or remove a service that places cookies. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
