Can I add working headlights and tail lights to a Technic car?
Yes. White LEDs sit in the headlight housings, red in the tail lights, where the real car has them. The supercar kits usually add underglow, engine bay and cabin lighting for the full showroom effect.
Will lighting interfere with the steering or the gearbox?
No. Cable routes are tested against steering travel, suspension movement and gear changes, so every function still works with the kit fitted.
Is it worth lighting a set that is mostly mechanical?
Technic supercars are among the best subjects there are. Transparent engine covers, brake discs and cockpits were made for it. Lit on a shelf, a Bugatti or a Ferrari reads as a scale model rather than a toy.
Which Technic sets are covered?
The flagship supercars — Bugatti, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche — along with motorcycles, cranes and off-roaders. Search your set number for the exact match.
Do motorised Technic sets still work?
Yes. The lighting runs on its own USB circuit, entirely separate from LEGO® Powered Up motors, so remote functions are untouched.
Can I choose the underglow colour?
Each kit lists the colours it ships with, usually matched to the car. If you want something else, the DIY components collection lets you swap individual strands.
