FAQ - LEGO Icons Light Kits

Got questions? We have answers.

What is the best way to display a large Icons set like the Colosseum or the Titanic?
Light it, then case it. LEDs reveal detail that room lighting flattens — the Titanic's portholes, the arches of the Colosseum — and an acrylic case keeps the dust off. Both are made set by set, so nothing is approximate.
Are Icons kits hard to install for a first-timer?
If you built the set, you can light it. The instructions follow the set's own structure and show which section to lift and where each LED goes. Most people finish a large Icons kit in an evening.
Will LEDs left on all day fade the bricks?
No. They emit almost no heat and no meaningful UV. Sunlight is what fades LEGO® colours — lighting a set lets you display it away from a window and still see everything.
Which Icons sets can I light?
The range is covered broadly, from the Colosseum 10276 and the Titanic 10294 through the botanical sets, vehicles and seasonal releases. Search your set number to find its kit.
What lighting suits an Icons display set?
Warm white for architecture and interiors, cool white for ships and vehicles, plus specific effects such as a flickering hearth on seasonal sets. Each kit is tuned to its subject rather than lit uniformly.
Can I light a retired set I have owned for years?
Yes. We keep kits available long after LEGO® stops selling a set, Creator Expert classics included, and the instructions assume you are working on a model that is already built.
