FAQ - LEGO Modular Building Light Kits

Got questions? We have answers.

How do you light a whole modular street without cables everywhere?
Each floor connects at the same point where the building separates, and the buildings join to each other through a splitter. A full street runs off one or two USB cables hidden behind the rear walls.
Can I still open the floors after fitting the lights?
Yes. The connections sit exactly where the floors come apart: unplug, lift, plug back in. Access to the interiors stays as it was.
Which colour temperature suits a LEGO building?
Warm white around 2700K reads as domestic lighting; cool white suits shops and modern facades. Our modular kits mix the two on purpose — warm flats above, brighter shopfronts below, the way a real street looks at night.
Which modular buildings are covered?
The current line-up and the retired classics, back to favourites such as Assembly Square 10255. Kits for retired sets stay in the catalogue for collectors finishing an older street.
Do the kits light the street lamps and signs?
Yes. Lamp posts, signage and porch lights are part of most modular kits alongside the interiors. It is the exterior glow that makes a street look alive.
Can I run the whole street from one power source?
Yes, by chaining the buildings through a splitter. On a very long street we suggest splitting across two USB ports so brightness stays even end to end.
