What's the benefit of adding lights to a small-scale LEGO® Speed Champions car?

Speed Champions models are very compact. How do you fit an entire light kit inside?

This is where our micro-engineering shines. Lighting these compact cars is only possible because we use our absolute smallest components, designed specifically for tight spaces:

 

-Micro Bit Lights: These are our tiniest LEDs, small enough to fit inside a single LEGO® stud space.

-Ultra-Thin Flexible Wires: These can be easily sandwiched between plates and routed through the dense interior of the build.

-Micro Expansion Boards: These are our smallest port hubs, designed to be tucked away invisibly within the chassis.

How do you ensure the lights are authentic to the real-world cars?

Our design team are true car nuts. For every LEGO car light kit, we meticulously study the real-world vehicle it's based on—whether it's a Ferrari, a Porsche, or a McLaren. We go to great lengths to match the precise color (e.g., cool white for modern headlights) and position of the lights to be as faithful to the actual car as the LEGO® brick system allows.

I have a large collection. How can I light them all for a "starting grid" display?

Creating an illuminated garage or starting grid is the ultimate goal for many collectors. Our system is fully modular, making this easy. You can power multiple cars from a single source by using one of our multi-port USB Power Adapters. From there, you can run individual USB cables to each car, or use our Expansion Boards to "daisy-chain" several cars together for a clean and impressive LEGO racing display.

Are the lit models still durable enough for play?

Our components are durable, but the addition of fine wires inevitably makes the model more delicate than a standard, unlit car. We recommend our lit Speed Champions models for display and light play. While they can certainly be rolled across a desk, they are not intended for rough-and-tumble racing or crash play, as this could dislodge the tiny components.

What is the best way to power a single Speed Champions car on my desk?

For displaying a single car, the perfect solution is our AAA Battery Pack. It is incredibly compact and requires just two AAA batteries. The small size means it can be easily concealed right behind the car on a shelf or desk, giving you a clean, wire-free presentation that keeps the focus entirely on your beautifully lit model.
